Configuring Netscape 4.0, 4.5, 4.6 and later.
1.
Open Netscape
2. Go to EDIT on the menu bar and choose PREFERENCES...
3. Scroll down the left side of the preferences window to the
ADVANCED category then open it.
4. Click on PROXIES to select it. See below:

Select "Manual proxy configuration" and click the
[Configure...] button if you're using a Macintosh, or click
the [View...] button if you're using a Win95/98 machine.
Use the following settings: (for a list of optional virtual
settings click here)

6. Click OK.
7. Click OK again.
8. Quit Netscape and restart it.
Netscape will ask you for a Username and Password before loading
your homepage. Please use your Proxy ID and Password that we
sent you here.

NOTE:
If proxy authentication fails, repeat the steps above, making
sure that all characters are entered in the proper case then
restart Netscape. If you are still have problems, please email

Configuring Netscape 2.0 and 3.0 to use Lockdown's WWW proxy
service
1. Open Netscape
2. Go to OPTIONS on the menu bar and choose NETWORK PREFERENCES...
3. Select the PROXIES tab on the top right of the preferences
window
4. Select "Manual Proxy Configuration" and click the
[View...] button
Use the following settings: (for a list of optional virtual
settings click here)

5. Click OK.
6. Click OK again.
7. Quit Netscape and restart it.
Netscape will ask you for a Username and Password before loading
your homepage. Please use your Proxy ID and Password that we
sent you.
NOTE:
If proxy authentication fails, repeat the steps above, making
sure that all characters are entered in the proper case and

Configuring Internet Explorer 4.5 for Mac OS to use Lockdown's
WWW proxy service
1.
Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to EDIT on the menu bar and choose PREFERENCES...
3. Open the NETWORK category on the left side of the preferences
window
4. Click on PROXIES to select it
5. Select (click the circle) ENABLED
Use the pulldown menu to the right of PROTOCOL and select HTTP.
Use the following settings: (for a list of optional virtual
settings click here)

Use the pulldown menu to the right of PROTOCOL and select FTP.
Use the following settings:

Click OK.
8. Quit Internet Explorer and restart it.
Internet Explorer will ask you for a Username and Password before
loading your homepage. Please use your Proxy ID and password
that we sent you here. See below:

NOTE:

Configuring Internet Explorer 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 for Windows
to use Lockdown's WWW proxy service

Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to VIEW on the menu bar (TOOLS on IE5) and choose INTERNET
OPTIONS...
3. Select the CONNECTION tab
4. In the -Proxy Server- section put a check mark (click) in
the box beside "Access the Internet using a proxy server"
and click the [Advanced] button
Use the following settings: (for a list of optional virtual
settings click here)

5. Click OK.
6. Click OK again.
7. Quit Internet Explorer and restart it.
Internet Explorer will ask you for a Username and Password before
loading your homepage. Please use your Proxy ID and password
that we sent you here. See below:
